A RESOLUTION BY THE COLLEGE STATION CITY COUNCIL CONSENTING
TO THE FORMATION OF BRAZOS COUNTY RURAL FIRE PREVENTION
DISTRICT NO. 3 IN THE UNINCORPORATED AREAS OF COMMISSIONER
PRECINCT NO. 3 IN THE BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS ENCOMPASSING
PORTIONS OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION EXTRATERRITORIAL
JURISDICTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a petition by the qualified voters and owners of taxable real
property within the unincorporated areas of Commissioner Precinct No. 3 for the
formation of the Brazos County Rural Fire Prevention District No. 3 has been
submitted to the Honorable County Judge of Brazos County, Texas;
WHEREAS, such Rural Fire Prevention District is to be organized for the
protection of life and property from fire and for the conservation of natural
resources as provided under Section 48-D, Article III, Constitution of the State of
Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the district shall encompass certain areas of the extraterritorial
jurisdiction of the City of College Station requiring the consent of said City:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the
City of College Station, Texas, fully supports and endorses the formation of
Braz0s County Rural Fire Prevention District No. 3.
