7-8-99-15.5 - Resolution - 07/08/1999RESOLUTION NO. 7-8-99-15.5 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, APPROVING A SUBAGREEMENT BETWEEN TEXAS A&M RESEARCH FOUNDATION AND THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION FOR THE ADVANCED LAW ENFORCEMENT AND RESPONSE TECHNOLGY (ALERT). WHEREAS, the Texas A&M Research Foundation, acting as the contracting agency for the Federal Highway Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation, will allow the College Station Police Department, working in conjunction with the Texas Transportation Institute, to continue participation in this project by providing equipment, software development funding, and salary compensation for CSPD officers involved. WHEREAS, the essence of this project is to increase the efficiency and safety of the police officer by incorporating existing and emerging technologies in the officer's work environment; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas: PART 1' That the equipment provided under this subagreement will be two ALERT equipped patrol vehicles to be utilized by CSPD field officers. Also included in the software development funding are provisions for a computer-based field reporting system to be used by CSPD officers. Also included in the software development funding are provisions for a computer-based field reporting system to be used by CSPD officers. PART 2: That the City of College Station Police Department has been participating in the ALERT project since its inception in 1992. PART 3: That the funding for this project will be provided by the Federal Highway administration and the City will not have to contribute any funds to this project. PART 4: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
