12-10-20-4.4 - Resolution - 12/10/2020RESOLUTION NO. 12-10-20-4.4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS ADOPTING A POLICY SETTING THE GUIDELINES FOR INCLUDING LANDSCAPING REQUIREMENTS IN CITY CAPITAL STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station considers landscaping an important component of the City’s arterial and major collector roadway system; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to formally adopt rules setting out the requirements and criteria to be followed by City staff for all future City capital street improvement projects involving major collector and arterial roadways; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: PART 1: That the findings and recitations set out in the preamble to this Resolution are declared true and correct. PART 2: That the City Council hereby approves and adopts a policy for the Landscaping Requirements for City Capital Street Improvements Projects for major collector and arterial roadways as attached in Exhibit A. PART 2: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage. ADOPTED this 10th day of December, 2020. ATTEST: APPROVED: City Secretary Mayor APPROVED: City Attorney EXHIBIT A It shall be the policy of the City of College Station that City capital projects involving major collector or arterial roadways shall require landscaping in an amount not less than one percent of the project construction budget or greater than two percent of the project construction budget. The landscaping will include indigenous plantings whenever possible.
