Vance of Bryan was approved with copies to be sent to Mrs. Vance and the City Commission of Bryan and a copy to be spread on the minutes of this meeting. RESOLUTION The City Council of College Station records with deepest sympathy the death on July 5 of Mayor B. F. Vance of Bryan. Although his term of office as Mayor was less than three months, this Council had come to respect his wisdom and capacity for leadership, and looked forward with anticipation to an administration devoted to the common interests of the people whom the governing bodies of the two cities serve. Mr. Vance was a man of rugged common sense re- spected by all who knew him. His friends were legion; his influence for good reached to the far corners of the nation. The City of Bryan, this community, and the State of Texas have suffered an irreparable loss in his death. As a further token of respect, it is ordered that copies of this resolution when signed by the Mayor and the City Secretary be sent to Mrs. Vance and the City Commission of Bryan, and a copy spread on the minutes of this meeting.
