AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE QUESTION OF REZONING A
1.4 ACRE TRACT OF LAND AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE WEST FRONTAGE ROAD OF
THE EAST BY-PASS AND HIGHWAY 6 FROM DISTRICT NO. 1, FIRST DWELLING HOUSE
DISTRICT TO DISTRICT NO. 4, FIRST BUSINESS DISTRICT, AND MORE PARTICULARLY
DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended that
all land described herein be rezoned from District No. 1, First Dwelling
House District to District No. L+, First Business District;
It is hereby ordered that a public hearing shall be held at the City
Hall in College Station, Texas, at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 28, 1971, on
the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits as follows:
All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in
the Morgan Rector League, Brazos County, Texas, and being part of Plot No. 2
of the Division of Frank Barak 92.27 acre tract of land out of said League,
County and State according to plat made in February, 1955 by J. S. Harrison,
licensed land surveyor, said part of Plot No. 2 being more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at a poin- on the NE right-of-way line of State Highway #6,
said point being N 470 55 W 303.88 feet from the S corner of the 48.78 acre
tract of land conveyed by Lee Krolczyk to Frank Barak, by deed dated March
19, 1929, recorded in Volume 73, Page 507, Deed Records of Brazos County,
Texas;
Thence N 440 28' E approximately 787 feet to a point in the west
right-of-way line of State Highway #6 East By -Pass;
Thence S 100 23' 54" W a distance of 142.320 feet;
Thence S 390 30' 2111 W a distance of 662.077 feet to a point in the
NE right-of-way line of State Highway #6;
Thence N 470 55' W a distance of 107.772 feet to the place of
beginning and containing 1.4 acres of land more or less, from Distrcct
No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 4, First Business
District.
Notice of said hearing shall be published in a newspaper of general
circulation in the City of College Station at least three times, the first
publication of which shall be not less than 15 days prior to the date fixed
for the hearing.

AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, AHTUORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, .aPXAS:
Section 1. On the 28th day of June, 197 , a 7:00 p.m. o'clock in the City
Council Chamber of the City Hall of the ity o College Stat' n, Texas, the
City Council will hold a public hearing iving 11 intere ed persons the right
to appear and be heard on the proposed an exati n by e City of College
Station, Texas of the following described , to wit:
Beginning at the most easterly corner of a 6.07 acre tract out of the
Crawford Burnett League, said tract sho on a preliminary plat as
Ponderosa Place; said corner furt r escribed as being in the west
right-of-way line of State Highway and also being a corner of the
present city limit line,
Thence in a southeasterly di e ion along the west right-of-way line of
State Highway 6 a distance f 280 feet to a point for a corner,

(Chapter 1 0, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963; compiled
as 970a, Ve on's Texas Civil Statutes).
Secti n 3. Th importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an
imperative public necessity that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at
three several meetings be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, and
the ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption.
