HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/19/1947 - Regular Minutes - City CouncilMINUTES OF CALLED MEETING November 19, 1947 The City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, convened in Special session at the regular meeting place, with the following members thereof present; Ernest Langford, Mayor; F. Be Brown, Jr., J. A. Orr, IV. H. Badgett, E. E. Ames, and M. T. Harrington, Councilmen; City Secretary McGinnis; and City Manager Vaughn; and the following absent: G. IN. Black, constituting a quorum, and, among other proceedings had, were the following: Councilman Harrington introduced a proposed ordinance. The ordinance was read in full. Councilman Badgett moved that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at more than one meeting be suspended. The motion was seconded by Councilman Ames, and carried by the following vote: AYES: Councilman Brown, Orr, Badgett, Ames, and Barrington. NOES: None. Counciliman Brown moved that the ordinance be passed finally. The motion was seconded by Councilman Ames, and carried by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Brown, Orr, Badgett, Ames and Harrington. NOES: None. The Mayor announced that the ordinance had been finally passed. The ordinance is as follows: ORDINANCE 108 RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A COMBINED CITY OFFICE AND WAREIIOUSE FOR SAID CITY, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF WARRANTS IN THE AGGREGATE AMOUNT OF $20,978.60 IN PAYMENT OF THE CONTRACT PRICE, LEVYING A TAX TO PAY THE INTEREST ON SAID WARRANTS AND THE PRINCIPAL THEREOF AT MATURITY; AND DECLARING AN E IVM, RGENCY. .,Approved: Mayor Attest: 6 j / ' , City Secretary
