RESOLUTION NO. 1-10-80-8B
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
APPLICATION FOR GRANT TO SUPPORT AUGMENTATION OF
JUVENILE UNIT
WHEREAS, the dynamic growth of the City of College Station in
recent years has not been without attendant problems with
juvenile delinquency and crime, and;
WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor,
has assisted the City of College Station in establishing a
juvenile unit within the Police Department to cope with the
juvenile problems, and;
WHEREAS, a need continues in the Police Department for a
specially trained juvenile unit to work with predelinquent
juveniles with the view of diverting problem youth from the
juvenile justice system to community-based resource agencies;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, at its meeting on the 10th day of
January, 1980, that:
The Mayor/City Manager be authorized on behalf
of the City Council to make application to the
Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor,
for a grant of Three Thousand Eight Hundred dollars
(3,800) to support the continuation of the juvenile
unit of the Police Department.

The Mayor/City Manager be authorized on behalf of
the City Council to accept such grant award should
it be tendered.
This Resolution becomes effective upon adoption
and its recording in the Minutes of the City
Council is ordered·
