City Manager Bardell commented on the street plan and answered questions for the Council. He explained that the plan was prepared in a general way and could be modified easily, taking into consideration visual obstruction, utility lines and driving hazards to both those in automo- biles and on bicycles. City Manager Bardell indicated that the staff needed additional time to study the extensive document. Mayor Bravenec indicated that an entire workshop be designated to this project once the staff has sufficient time to study the plan. Agenda Item No. 2 -- Discussion on Park and Land acquisition. Mayor Bravenec suggested the parking in Dexter Park be moved to prevent damage to the trees. Interim Director of Parks and Recreation Czimskey gave a brief report on the parking area at Dexter Park. The Council discussed the closing of the road and removal of the bridge over the creek in Dexter Park. Fire Chief Landua pointed out the problem of the Fire Departmen~.'s response time if the street should be closed. Mayor Bravenec noted the problems concerning erosion and with concrete blocks in the creek channel in Dexter Park. Interim Director of Parks and Recreation Czimskey reported on the progress of the softball field in Anderson Park. Mayor Bravenec requested information on the Krenek Tap project and recommended that definite plans be started in that direction. A report was given on the bridge construction project on Bee Creek. .. Councilman Halter recommended hiring a firm and getting competitive bids for the Krenek Tap project. 0Z4 7 MINUTES, City Council Workshop Meeting May 10, 1978 4: 00 P.M. Mayor Bravenec suggested that a Bureau of Outdoor Recreation application be begun at this time. He also suggested that a tentative schedule for the selling of bonds and designated spending of the revenues be deter- mined. City Manager Bardell recommended the sale of all bonds at one time, on the basis that all items are needed at this time and that bond prices continue rising. The cost per dollar realized becomes much higher when bond sales are issued at different times. The house on the Arnold Park property has been offered for sale to the City. Councilman Boughton suggested the price was excessive. City Manager Bardell said the Parks Department would look at the property and make recommendations to the Council.
