Special City Council Meeting
June 15, 1976
3:00 P.M.
Mayor Bravenec, Councilmen Halter, Gardner, Dozier, Hazen,
Stephenson, Ringer; City Manager Bardell; Assistant Snider

Agenda Item No. 1 --Consideration of the prop...0_s_e_d budget for the fiscal year
1976-77.
City Manager Bardell explained the budget.
Mayor Bravenec questioned the percentage of taxes being collected by the County
and the amount they were paying for services provided by the City.
City Manager Bardell explained to the press the structure of his salary in the
budget.
Councilman Halter mentioned that any attempt to switch from Social Security to
a private insurance company would cause a great deal of problems.
Mayor Bravenec questioned why the City pays the County for use of jail facilities
while the County collects all the fines.
Councilman Hazen requested training of school crossing guards.
Mayor Bravenec stated that he felt that. the winter cost of maintaining an open
pool should be carried by those who use it.
The Bicentennial appropriation in the budget for last year was pointed out as
being from Hotel-Motel Tax funds and was deleted entirely.
Mayor Bravenec expressed the need for the City to maintain flexibility in buying
or lease-purchasing a utility computer system. He felt that buying would cut
interest costs and save money.
