Emergency City Council Meeting

Mayor Bravenec called the meeting into closed session.
Agenda Item No. 2-- Dis.cussion of the possible use of the prop_erty at the
intersection of Highway 30 and the East Bypa. s.s.
The Council convened to open session to discuss a 101 acre tract at Harvey
Road and the East Bypass and the zoning history of that tract.
Councilman Gardner inquired about the possible uses of the land and pointed out
that the zoning on said land should stand or not on its own merits.
Councilman Stephenson stated that while he was generally not in favor of
excessive development in the area that this was suitable location for commercial
and multi-family uses.
Mayor Bravenec stated that he felt the land would stand for commercial and multi-
family uses especially since it is bordered by apartment and commercial zoning.
Councilman Dozier stated that he thought that this was proper land usage.
Ron Cruse and Morris Hamilton, Jr. explained their financial interest in securing
the land and outlined what plans they had for development.

The Council adjourned without taking any formal action.
