June 21, 1968
A special meeting of the City Council was called by the Mayor at 5:00 P.M.,
Friday, June 21. The following members were present: Mayor Anderson; Councilmen
Holt, Rhodes, Dozier, Cooley, Holleman, and Davis; and City Manager Boswell.
On motion by Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman Davis, the recommendation
of the Building Committee was accepted and C. R. Watson was selected as architect
for the city hall, fire station, and police headquarters. Councilman Holleman
abstained from voting. The Mayor was authorized to sign a contract with Mr. Watson
for his services.
The Mayor stated that the Building Committee had completed its work and that
he was discharging the committee.
On motion by Councilman Holt, seconded by Councilman Holleman, the Mayor was
authorized to sign a note with the University National Bank in the amount of
$220,000.00 for interim financing of right-of-way cost for the east loop, pending
reimbursement from the State Highway Department for one-half of cost.
The meeting adjourned at 6:00 P.M. subject to call.
