HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/10/1966 - Special Minutes - City CouncilMINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING 0 June 10, 1966 Members present: Mayor Anderson; Councilmen Boyett, Cooley, Rhodes, Holt, Adams, and Rosprim; City Attorney Dillon; City Secretary Richardson; and City Manager Boswell. On motion by Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman Boyett, and with the unanimous approval of the council, the minutes of the meetings of May 23 and May 27 were approved. On motion by Councilman Holt, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, Ordinance No. 468, an ordinance approving and adopting plans and specifications for improvements on certain portions of Winding Road and Orr Street, and direct- ing the advertisement for bids, was passed and approved by a unanimous vote of the council. On motion by Councilman Boyett, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, the bid from Darco in the amount of $90,082.215, was accepted for street improve- ments for the fiscal year 1966-67. On motion by Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, Ordinance No. 469, an ordinance determining to assess a part of the cost of improving portions of Milner Drive, Gilchrist Avenue, Foster Avenue, Lincoln Avenue, Park Place Street and Boyett Street against abutting property and the owners thereof, adopting engineer's rolls, and providing for notice of public hearing, was passed and approved by a unanimous vote of the council. L Monday, June 13, 1966 at 7 p.m. at the City Hall was the date set to discuss the 1966-67 proposed budget. The date for the public hearing on the 1966-67 proposed budget was set for June 27, 1966 at 7 p.m. at the City Hall. On motion by Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman Adams, the city treasurer was authorized to reimburse Dr. M. T. Harrington $123.80, the cost all_ of the citation and frame which was presented to Ernest Langford. 0 City Manager Boswell was instructed to discuss with Mr. Dobrovolny the acquisition of a 60 -foot right-of-way across his property, and to work up an estimate of costs to extend Leacrest and Anderson Streets to Highway 6.
