MINUTES OF SP E3IAL MEETING
April 12, 1966
Members present: Mayor Anderson; Councilmen Adams, Boyett, Holt, Rhodes,
Rosprim.; City Manager Boswell.
Purpose of the meeting was to discuss proposed street improvement program
for 1966-67 fiscal year.
On motion of Councilman Holt, seconded by Councilman Boyett, the City
Manager was authorized to proceed with the preparation of the necessary legal
documents and engineering work for improvements along the following streets:
Milner Drive from Walton Drive to Puryear Drive
Gilchrist Avenue from James Parkway to Walton Drive
Foster Avenue from Walton Drive to Lincoln Avenue
Lincoln Avenue From State Highway 6 to Foster Avenue
Park Place Street from Hereford Street to South Dexter Drive
Boyett Street from FM Highway 60 to north city limits.
A petition for paving Live Oak Street from State Highway 6 to Turner Street
was excluded from the 1966-67 street improvement program for two reasons.
1. Lack of city matching funds for 1966-67 program.
2. Water line extension along the street under the proposed
water system improvements.
3. However, it will be included in the 1967-6$ street program.
It was brought to the attention of the council that this petition was
the last to be filed with the city.
The petition for street improvements in The Knoll was tabled due to
lack of clarification concerning street sections. It was recommended by the
Council that petitions be sought for the street sections from (1) Winding
Road from County Road east to Caudill Street and (2) Orr Street from Winding
Road to Langford Street. This will be included in the 1966-67 street program.
