Visitors Present: L. D. Trevino, J. E. Kirby, Mr. & Mrs. A. G. Kemler, Dr. & Mrs. Harold Redmond. On motion by Councilman Holt, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, Councilman Orr and City Attorney Sandstedt were excused from this meeting. Minutes of meetings held on May 25, 1964 and May 26, 1964 were approved. A public hearing was called on Ordinance No. 407 and there being no objections the mayor declared the hearing closed. On motion by Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, Ordi- nance No. 407, an ordinance closing hearing and levying assessments for a part of the cost of improving portions of Bolton Avenue, Munson Avenue, Park Place, Caudill Street and Francis Drive and sundry other streets and places in the City of College Station, Texas, and providing for the collection of such assessments and for the issuance of assignable certificates in evidence thereof, and declaring an emergency, was passed and approved. A public hearing was called on Ordinance No. 408 and there being no objections the mayor declared the hearing closed. On motion by Councilman Holt, seconded by Councilman Holleman, Ordi- nance No. 408, an ordinance closing hearing and levying assessments for a part of the cost of improving a portion of Park Place and sundry other streets and places in the City of College Station, Texas, and providing for the collection of such assessments and for the issuance of assignable certificates In evidence thereof, and declaring an emergency, was passed and apppoved. On motion by Councilman Boyett, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, Ordi- nance No. 409, an ordinance adopting the 1964-65 budget was passed and approved. On motion by Councilman Holleman, seconded by Councilman Holt, Ordinance No. 410, a tax levying ordinance, was passed and approved. A public hearing was called on rezoning Lot C, Tauber Addition, and there being no objections the mayor declared the hearing closed. Following his presentation, the council expressed its appreciation to him for his efforts ® in working out an amicable solution to the problem. 10 There being no further objection to rezoning the property concerned, on LIJ motion by Councilman Holt, seconded by Councilman Boyett, Ordinance No. 400, UI) an ordinance rezoning Lots 1 through 9, Block 6, Redmond Terrace Addition from W District No. 1, First Dwelling House District, to District No. 3, Apartment 0_ House District, was passed and approved. M On motion by Councilman Boyett, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, Ordi- :D nance No. 405, an ordinance vacating a 20 foot utility easement on Lots t 2 & 3, Block 6, Redmond Terrace Addition, was passed and approved. 0 On motion by Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, the city manager was authorized to pay $9,000, on the $28,000. due the University National Bank and the mayor was authorized to renew the note for $19,000. On motion by Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman Holt, Ordinance No. 412, an ordinance providing for a public hearing on the question of rezoning Lots 1, 2, Southwest 15 feet of 3 and a strip of land 7J feet by 115 feet along southeast end of said Lots 1, 2 and 15 feet of 3, Block 1, College Park Addition, presently zoned as District No. 1, First Dwelling House District to District No. 3, Apartment House District, was passed and approved. After discussing the project of furnishing the right-of-way for a grade separation at Highway 60 and FM 2154, on motion by Councilman Holleman, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, the council authorized Mr. Boswell to ask all of the people concerned to meet in the city council room with Mr. Thames for a full discussion of the subject. Following that meeting Mr. Boswell is authorized to begin negotiations for the purchase of the property and to \^/ bring all information to the council for its consideration. P h On motion by Councilman Rhodes, seconded by Councilman Boyett, the city +� manager was authorized to look into the possibilities of securing right-of-way Q for extending Lincoln Street into Carter's Grove.
