HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/17/1964 - Joint Minutes - City CouncilZD X 0 0 MINUTES OF JOINT MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL AND PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION M November 17, 1964 Members Present: (City Council) Members Present: (Planning and Zoning Commission) Mayor Langford, Councilmen Holt, Orr, Holleman, Rosprim, Boyett, Rhodes, City Attorney Sandstedt, City Manager Boswell. E. E. Burns, J. W. Sorenson, J. B. Hervey, D- A. Anderson, Charles F. Richardson, William A. Smith, Robert F. White. Purpose of the meeting was to discuss various problems concerning future welfare of the city as regards its growth, planning and zoning, streets, parks and recreation, etc.; the responsibilities of various commissions, bodies, appointees, and others concerned with the general growth and expansion of the city. The general consensus -was that there should be a clearer statement of the functions and duties of the Planning and Zoning Commission and Messrs. 0. M. Holt and E. E. Burns were appointed a committee to prepare such a ® statement for consideration by both groups. The question of updating Subdivision Ordinance No. 210 was discussed at length. Messrs. J. A. Orr, T. R. Holleman, and R. F. White, with Mr. Orr L as chairman, were appointed as a committee to study this question and bring �A to the council their recommendations for desirable revisions of this ordinance. Z The city manager was requested to prepare a general statement relative [xi to revenues and expenditures anticipated over the next five years. U} < The Planning and Zoning Commission was requested to undertake at its UJ earliest possible convenience a study of the extension of 29th Street to CL connect CL connect with Lincoln Avenue, such extension to be within the city limits of College Station. 2 D The feeling of the meeting was that these two groups should meet at 01-1 least quarterly.
