MINUTES OF SPECIAL. MEETING
September 16., 196/
Members Present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Holt., Rhodes, Orr., Boyett,
Rosprim., Holleman; City Secretary Manning, City
Attorney Sandstedt., City Manager iBoswell.
Purpose of the meeting was to diTcuss the request for a restudy of
the traffic situation at the intersection of State Highway 6 and Jersey
Street, and the purchasing of the necessary right-of-way for a grade
separation at the intersection of Farm Road 60, Farm Road 2154, and the
Missouri Pacific and Southern Pacific railroads.
Without the formality of a motion, the council directed the mayor
to ask the State Highway Department to make a restudy of the traffic
situation at the intersection of State Highway 6 and Jersey Street,
especially in view of the increase in traffic brought about by the
opening of the new shopping center at that point.
The question of purchasing right-of-way for the grade separation
was deferred until a meeting of the council at 1 p.m., September 17, 1964.
The mayor and city manager were requested to invite the resident state
highway engineer, the county judge, and a representative of Texas A & M
University to attend this meeting.
The council recessed to meet at 1 p.m., September 17, 1964.
