November 18, 1963
Members Present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Orr, Boyett, Rosprim, Sorrels,
Rhodes, Landiss; City Secretary Manning, City Attorney
Sandstedt, City Manager Boswell.
The question of whether the council should pass an ordinance regulating
the running at large of animals and fowls, etc., or whether the question
should be submitted to the people at a special election was discussed at
Aa considerable length. On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Council-
man Rhodes, the council voted four to three to submit this question to the
{111 people at a special election. Messrs. Landiss, Sorrels, Rhodes and Langford
�® voted yes on the motion; Messrs. Boyett, Orr and Rosprim voted no.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Landiss, the
W council voted unanimously to initiate at its next regular meeting the
W necessary steps to submit this question to a vote of the people.
W On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Sorrels, Ordinance
No. 382, an ordinance requiring the licensing of dogs, etc., was passed,
approved and ordered published.
After reviewing briefly the auditor's report, note was made of the
Q possible limitations relative to collection of unpaid assessments in the
M street paving program. The city attorney and city manager were instructed
to review this question and make arF necessary recommendation to the council.
The council adjourned subject to call.
