HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/05/1963 - Special Minutes - City Council1 « a 0 W V) W CL Cb 0 0 M Q « « a 0 m m W W CL Cb 7- D X I MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING August 5, 1963 Members Present: Mayor pro -tem Orr, Councilmen Boyett, Sorrels, Rosprim, Landiss; City Attorney Sandstedt, City Manager Boswell. The first order of business was to consider the impact of the new annexation law passed by the last session of the Texas Legislature and its effect upon the City of College Station, Texas. Mayor pro -tem Orr stated that he and Councilman Sorrels had been in Austin on this date (August 5) and had concluded that it would be to the interest of the City of College Station to annex the area west of the existing boundaries of the City of College Station including the area now occupied by Easterwood Airport and the other college property. Upon a motion by Councilman Sorrels and seconded by Councilman Landiss, annexation Ordinance No. 378 was passed and approved. The next order of business was the consideration of a letter dated August 2, 1963 by City Attorney, John Sandstedt, to City Manager Boswell regarding the erection of apartment houses by Mr. Pugh and Mr. McCrory on Lots five (5) and six (6) and part of Lot four (4) of Block nine (9) of the West Park Addition of the City of College Station, Texas. Upon a motion by Councilman Landiss and seconded by Councilman Rosprim, the report of City Attorney Sandstedt approving the issuance of a building permit to Mr. Pugh and Mr. McCrory was approved unanimously.
