Purpose of meeting was to receive bids fcr certain street improvements. Bids were opened and read as follows: B -W Construction Co., Bryan, Texas $102,2/0.10 Young Bros., Waco, Texas $108.185.59 Ra B. Butler, Bryan, Texas $1202329.51 Alternate A; for concrete paving R. B. Butler, Bryan, Texas $125,921.23 On motion by Councilman Boyett, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, the council voted unanimously to accept the bid of B -W 'Construction Company in the amount of $102,240.10, and authorized the mayor to sign the contract for the city. On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Landiss, the mayor and city manager were authorized to take whatever steps they deem necessary to protect the cityls interests in the proposed Millican Dam hearings in Austin.
