Myrick, 0 Bruce Drees Z On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman Anderson, UJCouncilman Orr's request to be excused from this meeting was granted. Q W On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman Sorrels, the C' request of Mr. Marion Pugh for the rezoning of his property on Meadowland °d Street was referred back to the Planning and Zoning Commission with the request that the commission confer with Mr. Pugh, Mr. Ferreri, Dr. Benbow, A & M College and other interested persons relative to the extension of and O improvements on Meadowland Street. A copy of this action is to be sent to 0 Mr. Pugh. m On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman Anderson, the request of George McCulloch for the rezoning of his property was referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission. On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman Boyett, the request of Phillip Goode, city judge, that the city pay part of the rent for the offices of Goode and Sandstedt was denied as being an illegal expenditure upon the part of the city. The mayor was authorized to confer with Messrs. Goode and Sandstedt relative to an adjustment in Mr. Goodels salary as city Judge and to report to the council at its next regular meeting. On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, permission was granted to Mr. J. C. Culpepper to erect a 61x10' sign advertising Carter's Grove Subdivision in front of his office, said sign to be removed on or before January 1, 1964. Councilman Anderson voted no. ® On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman Boyett, the original motion was amended to restrict the advertising to Carter's Grove Subdivision and Culpepper Realty Company. Q On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman Anderson, the mayor was authorized to appoint a Committee for the purpose of determining the needs for a city office building, fire station, auditorium, and water W tower, said committee to include the disciplines of insurance, architecture, U) engineering, firemen's training and the bar. Q W d. The appointment of Melvin Luedke as fire marshal was approved by the 'cd council, effective as of this date.
