HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/17/1962 - Special Minutes - City CouncilMINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING April 17, 1962 Members Present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Orr, Landiss, Anderson, Sorrels, Boyett, Rosprim; City Secretary Manning, City Attorney Sandstedt, City Manager Boswell Purpose of meeting was to consider Ordinances No. 338 and No. 339, bids on electric supplies, the question of re -zoning a certain strip of land in Ward 111. On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Boycott, Ordinance No. 338, an ordinance determining to assess a part of the cost of improving a portion of Glade Street and sundy other streets and places in the City of College Station against abutting property and the owners thereof, adopting engineer's rolls, providing for notice of hearing, and declaring an emergency, was passed and approved and ordered published® The vote on the motion was unanimous. On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Landiss, Ordinance No. 339, an ordinance determining to assess a part of the cost of improving portions of Glade Street and Orr Street and sundry other streets and places in the City of College Station against abutting property and the owners thereof, adopting engineer's rolls, providing for notice of hearing, and declaring an emergency, was passed and approved and ordered published. The vote on the motion was unanimous. On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman Orr, the bid of general. ElectricSupply Company in the amount of $7,250 for certain electrical supplies was accepted. On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Landiss, the question of re -zoning a Certain strip of land in Ward III from District No. 2, Second Dwelling House District, to District No. 4, First Business District, recommendation was made that the property in question be re -zoned.
