March 24, 1961
Members present: Mayor pro -tem Orr; Councilmen Boyett, Sorrels, Landiss;
City Manager Boswell; W. E. Lee, Representing City Attorney
Dillon; City Secretary Manning
Visitors present: Ernest L. Brown; representative from Bryan Eagle; rep-
resentative from Highway Department
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman Boyett, the city
manager was authorized to renew a $9,000.00 note at the College Station State
Bank.
On motion by Councilman Boyett, seconded by Councilman Sorrels, Ordi-
nance No. 310, an ordinance ordering street improvements on Foster Avenue from
Walton Drive to Gilchrist Avenue was passed.
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman Landiss, City
Manager Boswell's request for permission to attend the Municipal Finance Officers
Association meeting in Seattle, Washington, May 21 - 25 was granted.
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman Landiss, a mem-
ber of the council is authorized to go to Seattle with City Manager Boswell.
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman Landiss, Ordi-
nance No. 311, an ordinance authorizing the issuance of right-of-way time
warrants of City of College Station was passed and approved.
On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman Sorrels, City
Manager Boswell was authorized to go to Austin to confer with representatives
in the state legislature.
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman Landiss, City
Manager Boswell was authorized to talk to Mr. C. B. Thames concerning the
Highway Department Minute relative to grade separation at F. M.s 60 and 2154.
The meeting adjourned subject to call.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that there will be a special meeting of the City
Council of the City of College Stabtion, Texas, at the City Hall within said City
at 7.30 P.M. on the 24th day of March, 1961) for the purpose of adopting an ordi-
aance authorizing the issuance of $100,000 City of College Station Right -of -Way
Time Warrants, Series 1961.
