June 9, 1961
Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Orr, Sorrels, Anderson, Landiss,
Rosprim, Boyett; City Manager Boswell; City Attorney Dillon;
City Secretary Manning
Purpose of meeting was preliminary discussion of budget and other minor items.
After presentation of proposed budget for the fiscal year July 1, 1961 -
June 30, 1962, by City Manager Boswell, and the working of certain adjustments
in salaries, on motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Orr, the
budget was tentatively approved and a public hearing thereon ordered for 7:00
p,m., June 23, 1961.
On motion of Councilman Boyett, seconded by Councilman Orr, the city manager
was authorized to make satisfactory arrangements for the watering and maintenance
of the city cemetery during the summer months.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Anderson, the Summary
Report of the Brazos Area Plan was referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission
for study as regards changes which might properly be made in Ordinance No. 38.
The council adjourned subject to call.
