WORKSHOP CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Wednesday, April 22, 1981
4:00 P.M.
COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT:
Mayor Halter, Councilmen Jones, Boughton, Dozier, Prause
Runnels, Ringer, Student Gov't Liaison Herring
COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: None
STAFF PRESENT:
Assistant City Manager Van Dever, City Engineer Ash.
VISITORS PRESENT:

Agenda Item No. 1 - Council Concerns.
Councilman Boughton stated that there was a detour sign in front of the fire station
that needed to be removed.
Agenda Item No. 2 - Discussion of Annual Report, Public Meetings Calendar, or
Newsletters.
Mayor Halter presented the calendar and annual report ideas for the City of College
Station to the Council as a means of getting information to the citizens.
Council members discussed the use of the calendars and annual reports by the
Council, Staff, and citizens of College Station.
Mayor Halter suggested creating a council committee to study the project and
give a recommendation in the future.
The committee was chosen as follows:
Councilman Prause, Chairman
Councilman Boughton
Mayor Halter
Agenda Item No. 3 - Discussion of Purchase of Dra~line for Landfill.
Public Works Director Ford presented and explained the bids to the council.
He recommended the Council to accept the Northwest 50D Dragline, which is the
highest bid. He stated that this piece of machinery wauld be best and that the
other draglines would not meet the Public Works needs.
Councilman Dozier moved that the Public Works accept the bid for the Northwest
50D Dragline for $194,350,00.
Councilman Boughton seconded the motion which passed unanimpusly~

The council moved to closed session to later open to the public.
Agenda Item No. 5 - Action on closed session.
There was no action taken.

Mayor Halter adjourned the meeting.
