RESOLUTION NO. 4-28-83-10
A RESLOUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR GRANT TO IMPLEMENT A
CRIME PREVENTION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the dynamic growth of the City of College Station in
recent years has not been without attendant problems
pertaining to Crimes Against Persons and Crimes Againsl
Property; and,
WttEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division, Office of the Governor,
aas assisted the City of College Station in estab-
lishing a crime prevention program within the Police
Department to cope with the attendant rise in crimes
against property and persons, and
WHEREAS, a need continues in the Police Department for a spe-
cially trained crime prevention bureau to instruct the
citizens of College Station through seminars, security
surveys, means and ways they can employ to lessen thei~
chances from becoming a victim of one of these crimes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, at its meeting on the 28th day of
April, 1983.
1. The Mayor/City Manager be authorized on behalf of the
City Council to make application to the Criminal Justi,
Division, Office of the Governor, for a grant of
$988.00 to support the implementation of the Crime
Prevention Program with the purchase of equipment.
2. The ~layor/City Manager be authorized on behalf of the
City Council to accept such grant award should it be
tendered.
3. This Resolution becomes effective upon adoption and
its recording in the Minutes of the City Council is
ordered.
