AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11, SECTION 2, SUBSECTIONS A AND E OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, RELATING TO THE SCHEDULE OF
RATES FOR WATER AND SEWER SERVICES AND PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS
That Chapter 11, Section 2A of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
College Station, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 2: WATER AND SEWER SERVICES
A. SCHEDULE OF RATES
The monthly rates to be charged consumers for public utility services,
namely water and/or sewerage connections, shall be in accordance with
the schedules as follows:
(1) Rates for Water Service
(al For domestic consumers, whether single-family or multi-family,
using water within the corporate limits of the city:
Charge per thousand gallons - $1.25
Service charge per month - $4.00
(bi For commercial and/or industrial consumers using water within
the corporate limits of the city:
Charge per thousand gallons - $1.25
Service charge per month - $4.00
(c)
Retail customers - Consumers using water outside of the corporate
city limits and receiving water either through one or more meters,
which may or may not maintain its own distinct service lines and
billing.
Charge per thousand gallons of water 1.5 times the charge per
thousand gallons as set forth in (al and (bi above.
Service charge per month - $4.00
Id)
Wholesale customer - A consumer outside the corporate city
limits which is a Public Utilltles Commission authorized
organization that acquires water for resale at a higher rate
for the purpose of maintaining existing improvements, extending
services to future customers, retiring its debt service, and

any other Public Utilities Commission authorized purpose.
Charge per thousand gallons of water 1.0 times the charge per
thousand gallons as set forth in (a) and (b) above.
Service charge per month - $q. O0
For consumers contracting for temporary water connections:
Charge per thousand gallons of water 2.0 times the charge per
thousand gallons as set forth in (b) above.
Service charge per month - $8.00
(2) Rates for Sewerage Service

For consumers using sewerage service for household purposes,
single or multl-family, wlthln the corporate llmlts of the city:
Monthly charge per household unit - $8.00
For consumers using sewerage service for commercial and/or
industrial business establishments within the corporate limits
of the city:
First 7,000 gallons or fraction thereof of water - $8.00
Each additional 7,000 gallons or fraction thereof of water
used - $2.00
For consumers using sewerage service outside the corporate
limits of the city:
Charges per month shall be 1.5 times the amounts set forth
in (a) and (b) above.
Where it can be shown that any considerable part of water
used by commercial and/or industrial consumers does not reach
the sewers, the City Council may make such adjustments in
their rates as shall be deemed just and equitable."
II.
That Chapter 11, Section 2E of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College
Station, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"E. EFFECTIVE DATE OF RATES
These rates shall be effective on a11 invoices submitted by the City of
College Station to users on or after February 1, 198~ "

III.
Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this
ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any purpose, the
remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
IV.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances, in conflict herewith are super-
ceded to the extent of the conflict only.
And, it is ordained that this ordinance shall become effective from and after
its passage in accordance with the City Charter of the City of College Station.
