HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-11-84-06 - Resolution - 10/11/1984RESOLUTION NO. 10-11-84-06 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AN EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION AND TIM COPPINGER. WHEREAS, the City of ColleGe Station City Council iously approved an Employment AGreement with Steve Owens ~until May 1, 1984 to employ him at the ColleGe Station Police Department as a technical supervisor to oversee the utilization an intoxilizer instrument. WHEREAS, Steve Owens has left the employ of the City leGe Station and Tim CoppinGer is qualified as a technical ~supervisor. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STATION, TEXAS, THAT: After consideration of the Employment AGreement with ]Tim CoppinGer, the City Council hereby authorizes the City ~ManaGer to execute the Employment AGreement attached hereto. PASSED AND APPROVED this lkh day of October , 1984 ~ATTEST: JONES CITY [Y MAYO~I~Y HALTE~ 00/ 616 EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT THIS IS AN EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT between CITY OF COLLEGE STATION and TIM COPPINGER, to employ Mr. Coppinger as a technical supervisor to oversee the utilization of an intoxilizer instrument by the College Station Police Department. Tim Coppinger agrees to serve as a technical supervisor to the department as of October 12, 1984. The City of College Station and Tim Coppinger agree as follows: 1. The City of College Station shall pay Tim Coppinger a salary of Three Hundred and No/100 ($300.00) Dollars per month on a monthly basis, beginning October 12, 1984. Tim Coppinger shall perform the duties of technical supervisor on a month to month basis until either the City of College Station Police Department or Tim Coppinger gives two weeks notice to the other party of the termination of this agreement. 2. The City of College Station shall defray all reasonable expenses submitted by Tim Coppinger to maintain his competence as a technical supervisor for the instrument and to attend meetings or seminars which are reasonably necessary to this employment. 3. Tim Coppinger shall be available on 24-hour call for repair and maintenance of the instrument. 4. Tim Coppinger shall supervise the operators employed by the department, including a review of the competency from time to time, a continuing training program, and reporting on their 004617 performance to designated police administrators; provided, however, that all operations and actions shall be subject to the provisions of the policies and procedures adopted from time to time by the College Station Police Department, and neither Tim Coppinger nor any other person shall be authorized to deviate therefrom without approval from the Chief of Police. 5. Tim Coppinger shall be available to testify in Court proceedings where necessary, upon notification by appropriate police administrators or receipt of a subpoena from a Court of competent jurisdiciton. Coppinger shall be paid for Court time as follows: Only for hours in excess of ten (10) per month, then at the rate of $15.00 per hour. 6. Tim Coppinger shall, on behalf of the Police Department, order instrument related equipment and supplies, all of which shall be purchased by the City, and maintain a level of supplies on hand to prevent excessive instrument inoperation time.
