WHEREAS, the City of College Station held a bond
election on January 24, 1984, and
WHEREAS, the positive outcome of the bond election
may have an effect on the future property
tax rate; and
WHEREAS, the City of College Station has granted
in the past an exemption of $18,750 to
those property owners over 65 years of
age; and
WHEREAS, any rate increase would lessen the effect
of the current exemption for those
qualified
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION CITY COUNCIL THAT
the amount of the exemption granted to
property owners over 65 years of age
be increased to $30,000, with said
exemption to be effective as of
January l, 1984.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 9th DAY OF February, 1984.
