A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS AUTHORIZ-
ING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY TO ENTER INTO A ONE YEAR CONTRACT
WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS.
WHEREAS, there is a need to educate the people of the detri-
mental effects of littering and to encourage the people not
to litter; and
WHEREAS, the litter program will be enforced along the state
highways of the City of College Station; and
WHEREAS, the State of Texas will compensate the City of
College Station for citations issued for litter violations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of College Station will:
Cooperate with the State in the manaqement of this
program;
Adhere to the locations identified by the State
regarding enforcement activities and will utilize
the free media to publicize such activities; and
Enter into a one year contract with the State
regarding compensation to the City, $20.00 per
litter citation, provided the total amount payable
to the City does not exceed $25,000.
