A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE BRAZOS VALLEY SOFTBALL UMPIRES ASSOCIA-
TION FOR CITY RECREATION SOFTBALL LEAGUES FOR FY87-88 AND :~
FY88-89. :.i -
WHEREAS, the City Council has directed the College Station
Parks and Recreation Department to provide the
citizens a recreation program to utilize the fine
facilities in the city parks system, to enhance
the lives and bring enjoyment to persons of all
ages, and to attract visitors to the city; and,
WHEREAS, the recreation program conceived and developed by
the College Station Parks and Recreation Depart-
ment includes provision of services for Softball
Leagues, which has become an integral and popular
part of the overall program; and,

I~ WHEREAS, the continuation of services related to Softball
"[~ League action depends upon using the Brazos Valle,
Softball Umpires Association to officiate at all
games; and,
· !!:WHEREAS, the program is self-supporting but does require
I::. that a contract be executed between the City of
.-:: College Station and the Brazos Valley Softball
Umpires Association; and,
Ii": WHEREAS, the College Station City Council met on August 25
'i~ 1988, and determined that continuation of the
Softball League program in city parks would benefl
the health and welfare of the citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of College Station that the City Manager is hereby
authorized to execute an agreement with the Brazos Valley
~.~Softball Umpires Association for services to city recrea-
tion Softball Leagues for FY87-88 and FY88-89.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Sta-
tion has directed the staff to review all fees imposed
throughout the C~ty, but the City Council of the City
of College Station wishes to impose an interim fee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of College
Station City Council hereby imposes a fee of Two Hun-
dred Fifty Dollars ($250) on the application for an
abandonment of all or a portion of an easement.
