COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Ringer, Councilmen Haddox, Gardner, McIlhaney COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: Councilmen Brown and Boughton STAFF PRESENT: Acting City Manager Ragland, Director of Capital Improvements Ash, Finance Director Harrison, Budget Director Schroeder, City Attorney Locke, City Secretary Jones, Director of Parks and Recreation Beachy, Public Information Officer Calliham, Council Coordinator Hooks VISITORS PRESENT: See guest register. Agenda Item No. 1 - Council Concerns. Councilman McIlhaney expressed her appreciation for the Police Department's efforts in hosting the "Breakfast Bash" at the Aerofit Health Club after the A&M Consolidated Prom. She also noted her appreciation for community support. Councilman Haddox concurred with Mrs. McIlhaney's comments. Mayor Ringer reported that he and Mr. Ragland have met with University officials regarding the latest proposal of the reloca- tion of the railroad along Wellborn Rd. He stated that the staff is developing a presentation for Council's review which will per- tain to the impact the railroad relocation will have on the City and its long term effects. Mayor Ringer mentioned that the staff has not received the required number of signatures (100) for the budget amendment changing the fiscal year. He asked the council members to seek additional signatures and return to the Council office as soon as possible. Agenda Item No. 2 - City Manager Concerns. Acting City Manager Ragland reported that the Capital Improvements Committee of the Council will meet Monday, May 16th. Mr. Ragland mentioned that the TAMU officials agreed to reimburse the City for ambulance calls it answers on campus. Ms. Pat Herron of Chimney Hill Bowling Center came forward to accept a bronze sponsor plaque as host of the Bowling Games of the Pepsi Games of 1988. Mrs. Dyer of the Texas Aggie Book Club accepted a bronze sponsor plaque from Mayor Ringer. Mayor Ringer presented Ms. Susan Daly of Culpepper Plaza a silver sponsor plaque. Agenda Item No. 4 - Canvass of Election Returns. City Secretary Dian Jones introduced Dr. Ed Burns, presiding judge of Central Counting Station. Dr. Burns read the election returns. Councilman McIlhaney moved approval of Resolution No. 05-11-88-04 accepting the results of the city/school election of May 7, 1988. Councilman Gardner seconded the motion which carried unanimously, 4-0. A~enda Item No. 5 - Hear Visitors. No one spoke. Agenda Item No. 6 - Adjourn.
