CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
NOTICE IS HEPJ'BY GIVEN 'that a special meeting of the City
Council of the City of College .Station will be held on the 5th day
of April, 1950 at the City Hall in said city at 5:00 p. m. for the
purpose of passing on matters as follows:
1. Canvassing ballots of general city election held on
April /,, 1950.

CONSENT TO MEETING
We, the undersigned members of the City Council and the City
Attorney of the City of College Station, hereby accept service of the
foregoing notice, waiving any and all irregularities in such notice and
consent and agree that said City Council shall meet at the time and
place therein named and for the purpose therein stated.

MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
April 5, 1950
The City Council met in a called session at five pm on April
5, 1950 with the following present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Ames,
Badgett, Fitch, Halpin, and Orr; City Secretary McGinnis; City Manager
Rogers, and Assistant City Secretary Boswell.
The following visitors were present at this council meetings
Mr. Newman, reporter for the Bryan News; Nlr. Edwards, reporter for the
Battalion, and C. J. Keese.
The purpose of this meeting was to canvass the ballots of the
City election held on April 4, 1950.
The ballots as they were cast and shown on the election Judge's
report sheet were as follows:
For Mayor:

Councilman Orr made a motion, seconded by Councilman Fitch, that
the City Council declare the following men duly elected by the ballots
cast in the election hbld April 4, 1950, and to serve for a two year
period.

Councilman Ward I, Joe 0. Orr
Councilman Ward II, Robert B. Halpin

The Council vote was unanimous in favor of the motion and it
was so ordered by the Mayor.
Mayor Langford accepted "The Oath of Office" from the newly
elected officials and Councilman Orr, Mayor pro -tem accepted "The
Oath of Office" from Mayor Langford.
Councilman.Badgett made a motion, seconded by Councilman
Halpin, that the Council appoint Councilman Orr as Mayor pro -tem
for the next two years. The Council vote was unanimous in favor
of the motion.
Councilman Aalpin made a motion, seconded by Councilman Orr,
that the Council appoint N. M. McGinnis as City Secretary for the
next two years. The Council vote was unanimous in favor of the motion.
