HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/08/1952 - Regular Minutes - City CouncilREGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING September S, 1952 The City Council met in regular session September g, 1952, at 7:00 p.m. with the following present: Mayor Langford; Council- men Badgett, Boyer, Fitch, Pugh, and Sorrels; City Attorney Barger: City -Manager Boswell, and City Secretary McGinnis. Harri Baker, City Editor of the Battalion was present; he will attend future council meetings in his official capacity as city editor. Councilman Pugh made a motion, seconded by Councilman Sorrels, that the annual audit submitted by Mr. Nelson D. Durst for the fiscal year ending with June 30, 1952, be accepted and approved and that the Summary be published in the Battalion. The vote of the Council was unanimous in favor of the motion. Councilman Badgett made a motion, seconded by Councilman Sorrels, that the back portion of the College Station Cemetery (about 25 acres) be not for lease. The vote of the Council was unanimous in favor of the motion. The Council received a petition, to be presented to the Zoning and Planning Commissions, to re -zone a certain area on the west side of Highway 6 and north of Sulphur Springs road. Councilman Boyer made a motion, seconded by Councilman Fitch, that the Mayor be authorized to discuss electric charges and other pertinent problems with the Chancellor of the College System.
