Billington, Weldon Jones, representing (1. the Battalion. 00 After reviewing correspondence from the League of Texas Mu - nicipalities concerning the handling and storing of gasoline, the �+ council unanimously agreed that Ordinance No. 103, an ordinance regulating the handling and storage of gasoline, remain in full force and effect. Z Q Mr.. Ernest Brown, representative of Moroney Beisser and Company F- of Houston, discussed ways and means of financing a street improve- ment program. After hearing a report of the F. B. Clark Committee, Councilman Boyett moved, seconded by Councilman Seeger, all voting aye, that Dr. F. B. Clark be notified by letter that the council accepts the report of its committee and that all future developements by Dr. Clark meet the requirements of subdivision regulation Ordinance No. 210. For the records, the.report referred to above is repeated here: September 24, 1956 The Honorable Mayor and City Council College Station, Texas Gentlemen: The committee appointed by action of the City Council at its regular meeting.August 27, to make a recommendation as to the pro- cedure to be followed by the City Council in connection with Dr. F. B. Clarkes sub -divisions and developements, wishes to make the fol- lowing report. After investigating all previous commitments and agreements that the City has had with Dr. Clark, we find nothing that could be construed in such a way as to exempt Dr. Clark from any part of City Ordinance No. 210. Bob Martin, president of the Texas Shopping Center, Incorpov- rated, appeared before the council to request permission to erect a sign at proposed shopping center sight. On motion by Councilman Pugh, seconded by Councilman Boyett, all voting aye, the City Attorney was requested to inquire into the legality of sign erection and should he find that it be legal to erect the sign under the Zoning Ordinance, the City Knager be directed to grant council approval to the Texas Shopping Center, Incorporated. On motion by Councilman Pugh, seconded by Councilman Seeger, all, voting aye, the City Manager was directed to contact the owner of par- tially burned house on Ashburn Street and arrange for its removal. On motion by Councilman Boyett, seconded by Councilman Pugh, all_ votingaye, payor Langford was directed to appoint a Chairman and melmil- bers of the 1956 College Station Community Chest. Brison Minutes of City Council Continued: 3 September 24, 1956 On motion by Councilman Seeger, seconded by Councilman Pugh, all voting aye, the following is declared to be the policy of the city with respect to participation in the cost of paving adjacent to property which is owned by the city; If the city council elects to participate in the cost of paving streets adjacent to city property, one—half of the cost of such paving will be borne by the city and the other half by property owners concerned. On motion by Councilman Pugh, seconded by Councilman Boyett, all voting aye, the City Manager was authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of a 3/4 ton truck. On motion by Councilman Pugh, seconded by Councilman Boyett, all voting aye, the City Manager was directed to confer with the State Fire Insurance Commission at Austin relative to removing the Homer Norton Property, being more particularly described as part of Block 3, College Hills Estates, from the Fire Zone. Plans of the Hillel Foundation was passed until more information is received. The City Manager was instructed to contact Mr. W. M. Jackson and arrange to have him out weeds and grass on his lot at 200 Fairview Street, it being the opinion of the council that weeds and grass on this property create a fire hazard and a nuisance.
