Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved.
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman Boyett,
Athe City Manager was authorized to employee Mr. N. D. Durst to audit
Z the records of the city for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1957.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Sorrels,
U? the second paragraph of the Rules and Regulations for the College
Station Cemetery which reads as follows: "Burial of non -citizens will
be permitted only on approval of the city council," was changed to
read: "Burial of non-residents will be permitted upon request to and
approval by either the Mayor or the City Manager."
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Boyett,
Ordinance No. 250, an ordinance authorizing the appointment, of a
Building; Inspector was passed and approved. In connection therewith,
the City J:danager was requested to have prepared appropriate building
permit and inspection forms for consideration at the next regular
council meeting.
On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded. by Councilman Orr,
Ordinance No. 251, an ordinance changing names of certain streets to
avoid duplication was passed and approved.
The request of 14r. Phil 14. Olian of Ajay 10, 1957, relative to
the deeding of a 50 ft. right-of-way across certain property facing on
Highway 6 was denied upon motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Council-
man Anderson, as being incompatible with Ordinance No. 210 and the Mayor
was authorized to write Mr. Olian accordingly.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Anderson, the
�W hour of 7:30 p.m. June 24, 1957 was set for a public hearing on the
'p budget for the fiscal year July 1, 1957 - June 30, 1958, and official
publication of such hearing ordered.

D.. By unanimous agreement the regular meetings for July and August
were set for July 26 and August 23.

m Mr. Ben H. Hamner was appointed to the Joint Airport Zoning Board
to replace Mr. Fred E. Weick, resigned.

On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman McCall,
the Mayor was authorized to employ Spencer J. Buchanan and Associates,
Consulting Engineers, Bryan, Texas, to prepare detailed cross-sections
and profiles of streets, a topographic survey, definitions of ridge and
stream lines affecting drainage, etc., on a hourly basis in accordance
with schedule of charges filed in their proposal of May 24, 1957; all
work to be done in cooperation with the City Manager and the City
Engineer.,and subject to temporary termination as finances ma.y dictate.
Councilman Orr refrained from voting as he is sometimes employed by the
firm.
On motion by Councilman Boyett, seconded by Councilman Orr, the
City Manager was authorized to expend approximately 6700 for extensions
of power lines in the College Park area. In connection with these and
other possible extensions, and possible street lighting, the City
Manager was authorized to invite a lighting authority to discuss these
and other questions at the June meeting of the council.
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman McCall
the City Manager was authorized to look into -the possibilities of
establishing a through street between the College Hills area and the
Renghofer Addition.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman McCall,
Ordinance No. 252, an ordinance superseding Ordinance No. 140 was passed
and approved.
Mrs. H. E. Redmond discussed at considerable length the question
of the city's participating in improvements being made in the South Knoll
area. After full discussion as -to why the city is participating in this
project, ltrs. Redmond expressed complete satisfaction with the explanation.
