ORDER DECLARING RESULT OF CITY ELECTION

The city council met in special session at 5:00 p.m. with the

following present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Anderson, Boyett, Orr,
Pugh, Sorrels; City Attorney Dillon; City Manager Boswell; City Secretary
McGinnis.

Councilman Sorrels introduced a resolution and order and moved
its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Anderson, and the

motion carrying with it the adoption of the resolution and order pre -

vailed by the following vote: Ayes: all present, Noes, none.

resolution is as follows:

There came on to be considered the returns of a special election
held on the 7th day of May, 1957, for the purpose of electing a
to
Councilman from Ward 3, and it appearing from said returns, duly
and legally made, that there were cast at said election 63 valid
and legal votes; that each of the candidates in said election
received the following votes: L. J. McCall 50, R. L. Brown 8,
Frank H. Mathews 5.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION, TrffAS :
That said election was duly called; that notice of said election
was given in accordance with laws, and that L. J. McCall was
duly elected Councilman at said election, and he is hereby
declared duly elected to the office of Councilman from Ward 3,
subject to his taking the oath of office as provided by the
laws of the State of Texas.
Passed and approved this lath day of May, 1957.
Mr. IvIcCall having been duly elected, he subscribed to the oath
of office which was filed with the City Secretary.
