Visitors present: Some eighteen or twenty students from A & M College, and Dave Stoker, representing the Battalion. On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman McCall, February 17, 1959, was set as the date for a bond election and the fol- lowing named to serve as election judges and clerks in the respective wards: Ward I: L. G. Jones, judge, Mrs. E. P. Crittenden and Mrs. J. B. Hervey, clerks; Ward II: Mrs. Charles Richardson, judge, Mrs. Omar Sperry and Mrs. Codie Wells, clerks; Ward III: Mrs. W. D. Lloyd, judge, Mrs. R. J. Bond and Mrs. Johnny Lyons, clerks. On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Landiss, the mayor and city manager were authorized to secure the right-of-way across the Dominik property for a FM road by whatever means they deem expedient. On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Orr, consider- ation of the ordinance concerning peddlers was postponed until the next meeting. On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Landiss, Ordinance No. 272, an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 210 was adopted. City Manager Boswell was authorized to invite Mr. C. B. Thames of the Texas Highway Department to the next meeting to discuss speed limits and school crossing signs on Highway 6 at Jersey Street. City Attorney Dillon will confer with the Midwest Video Corporation rel- ative to the request of Mr. John S. Denison for service connection to cable. The council adjourned subject to call.
