HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/24/1958 - Regular Minutes - City Council0 0 m MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING February 24, 1958 Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Anderson, Boyett, McCall, Orr, Sorrels; City Manager Boswell; City Attorney Dillon; City Secretary McGinnis. Some forty visitors were present for this meeting. On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Orr, Ordinance No. 259, an ordinance calling a municipal election April 1, 1958 was passed and approved and ordered posted. On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman McCall, ® Ordinance No. 260, an ordinance appointing a Board of Equalization for 1958 was passed and approved. a On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman McCall, Ordinance No. 261, an ordinance repealing and re -writing Ordinance No. 45 0 was tabled until the next regular meeting. w On motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Orr, LJJ the city attorney was instructed to prepare and have ready for the next meeting an ordinance to be No. 262, an ordinance incorporating certain Ld areas within the city limits. CL Cd The city attorney reported that it was his opinion that existing 2 insurance policies cover the drivers of fire trucks while on active duty. Z) X The city manager was authorized to begin the planting of a small ®nursery in the neighborhood of the sewage disposal plant. M The city manager was requested to have prepared for the next meeting an estimate of cost for street lights along Highway 6. The mayor was instructed to write a letter to Patrolman Melvin Luedke commending him for his good record at the Texas Municipal Police Training School held at College Station from January 27 to February 21, 1958.
