Mayor Ringer_ announced.that the he?rt~, g is.necess .ar~'.. became of
calculations that are reqmrea as part of the tax reg~uauons. ~o_unc~ na.s
expressed an intent to set a tax rate which would be equal to the tax rate of
previous years so that if an individual's property h.as not changed on assessed
value, the city s taxes for the property would remain the same.
Mayor Ringer opened the public hearing.
Finance Director Bill Harrison addressed the Council. He stated that an error
was posted in the public notice published in the newspaper. He pointed out that
the correct number is 67.898 percent. Mr. Harrison recommended that the
Council table action on consideration of a date to set the tax rate, until such time
a new n~tice may be published and r. eset a time for a second public hearing.
Mayor Ringer closed the public hearing.

Councilman Brown moved to table this item and direct staff to repost a revised
notice of meeting for September 27th at 6:30 p.m. The motion was seconded by
Councilman Mc]]haney which carried unanimously, 6-0.
