Glenn Schroeder presented the proposed 1992-93 Budget to the City Council. City
Manager Ragland mentioned that the budget will be presented in detail with the council
at their budget retreat the first week of September. He added that copies are available
for public review.

City Planner Jim Callaway recognized the staffs intention to seek funds under the new
grant opportunities. He described the new funding sources referred to as the Texas
Housing Trust Fund and the HOME Program, each administered by the Texas Dept. of
Housing and Community Affairs. He stated that the grant application must be
submitted by August 28th. Further presentations will be made August 26-27.

Councilman McIlhaney reported that she and Connie Hooks attended the Region X
meeting in Lago Vista. She volunteered College Station as the host city for the Region
meeting in April.
Councilman Gardner commented that the city parking lot is not clearly marked.
Councilman Crouch indicated that she hoped further meetings could be held with other
members of TAMU staff along with the Board of Regents. She suggested that a plan
should be prepared to schedule these meetings, perhaps a subcommittee could work on
this. Secondly, she suggested that the Council develop a long term vision for the next
five to ten years on some of the issues that are not included in this year's budget.

Ci~ Manager Ragland mentioned that September 24th is scheduled for a meeting with
various entity groups.
Councilman Crouch moved to set the public hearing for August 27th on the budget.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Schneider which carried unanimously, 6-0.

Mayor Pro-tern Brown adjourned the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
