~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
~'i~.~ STATION URGING STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES TO INCLUDE LOCAL
'~'.....~;GOVERNMENTS IN DECISION MAKING PROCESSES PERTAINING TO
~,,~.' DISPOSITION OF STATE/FEDERALLY CONTROLLED MULTI-FAMILY

\ ... _: WHEREAS,in recent months State and Federal agencies have acquired through loan default '
:' - .~ various multi-family housing complexes in the City of College Station (City); and
WHEREAS,these agencies have made decisions concerning how these properties will be :~..~_-~,.~.
disposed of to a successful bidder including requirements as to the demographic characteristics
v.. ~ .--': of the complex's tenants; and .2-- '
~'{~.' "~--~,~ WHEREAS,these tenant demographic requirements involve setting requirements for Iow-to- ~';~'
:~ .;~ moderate income tenants in these multi-family complexes; and
· .-~. WHEREAS,these decisions have been made without the input of the local government affected
~. by these decisions, the City of College Station; and

~ WHEREAS,these decisions have been made without regard to the impact on p. rovision of City
services to the complex, neighborhood character, public schools, as well as w~thout consulting ,--~".-
· k--.--.-...c"the City's master plan or the City's own federally required Iow-to-moderate income housing plan;

WHEREAS,these multi-family complexes located in College Station were built as student housing ~'----;'~..
~'i'~'.i' ' :'"-:~ and do not lend themselves in terms of their facilities for residences of families; and

~,- ~ WHEREAS,the City Council of College Station has already made a commitment to providing
,,,,,,,,. affordable housing on a city-wide basis through its solicitation and administration of State and
~; Federal grant funds for this purpose guided by the City's Comprehensive Housing Affordability ;~.~.~' .~"~

.... NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HERE BY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF "' "-"
