HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-1659 - Ordinance - 06/26/1986ORDINANCE NO. 1659 AN ORDINANCE REZONING TWO (2) TRACTS OF LAND TOTALLING 29.34 ACRES OF LAND IN THE CHANFORD BURNETT LEAGUE IN COLLEGE STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS, AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE FROM C-1 GENERAL COMMERCIAL AND H-4 APARTMENT LOW DENSITY TO R-5 APARTMENT/MEDIUM DENSITY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 26, 1986 on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following: To rezone or change the classification of the following two (2) tracts of land all lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League in College Station, Brazos County, Texas, and being a part of that 103.8 acre tract conveyed to Area Progress Corporation by deed recorded in Volume 788, Page 71 of the Official Records of Brazos County, Texas, and being more particularly described az follows: TRACT NO. 1 Beginning in the northeast line of Wellborn Road (FM2154) at the most southerly corner of a tract presently zoned C-l, N 47°03'15" W - 508.27 feet from the most southerly corner of the said Area Progress Corporation 103.8 acre tract. Thence N 47°03'15" W - 72.17 feet along the northeast line of Wellborn Road; Thence N 42°08'25" E 437.03 feet through the said Area Progress Corporation 103.8 acre tract; Thence N 47°51'35" W - 1039.08 feet through the said Area Progress Corporation 103.8 acre tract and the said C-1 zoned tract to the northerly line of the said Area Progress Corporation tract which is the present City Limits line; Thence N 82°44'14" E - 105.15 feet along the City Limits line and the northwest line of the said Area Progress Corporation tract to the northeast corner of the said C-1 zoned tract; Thence S 47°03'15'' E - 1050.00 feet along the northeast line of the said C-1 zoned tract to the most easterly corner of same; Thence S 42°56'45" W - 503.18 feet along the southeast line of the said C-I zoned tract to the Point of Beginning and containing 2.56 acres of land more or less, from C-1 General Commercial to R-5 Apartment/Medium Density. Ordinance No. 1659 TRACT NO. 2 Beginning at the most southerly corner of the said Area Progress Corporatton 103.8 acre tract in the northeast line of Wellborn Road (FM2154); Thence N 42*28'04" E - 1101.38 feet along the southeast line of the said Area Progress Corporation 103.8 acre tract to the most southerly corner of a 36.61 acre tract presently zoned R-l: Thence N 47'51'35" W - 1551.81 feet along the southwest line of the R-1 zoned tract and continuing through a tract presently zoned R-4 to the northwest line of the said Area Progress Corporation 103.8 acre tract and the present City Limits line; Thence S 42'41'23" W - 576.35 feet along the City Limits line and the northwest line of the said Area Progress Corporation tract to the northeast corner of a tract presently zoned C-l; Thence S 47'03'15" E -= 1050.00 feet along the northeast line of the aaxd C-1 zoned tract to the most easterly corner of same; Thence S 42°56'45" W - 503.18 feet along the southeast line of the said C-1 zoned tract to the northeast line of Wellborn Road; Thence S 47'03'15" E - 508.27 feet along the northeast line of Wellborn Road to the Point of Begxnning and containing 26.78 acres of land, more or less, from R-4 Apartment/Low Density to R-5 Apartment/Medium Density. And, it is ordained that said change shall become effective immediately. PASSED AND APPROVED this 26th day of June, 1986.
