Mayor Ringer stated that David Gerling has written a letter suggesting the President of
the Old Main Society hold a permanent seat on the Historic Preservation Committee.
Mayor Ringer disagreed because by doing this it would take away a permanent
appointment by the Council; which the Council would have no control over. The Old
Main Society is not an official committee on campus. Mayor Ringer suggested sending
Old Main Society the schedule for the Historic Preservation Committee Meetings, and
invite the members to attend. The Councilmembers agreed with the Mayor.
