COUNClLMEMBERS PRESENT:Mayor Protem Mcllhaney, Councilmembers Fox, Kennady, Mariott, Crouch COUNCILMEMBERS ABSENT: Mayor Ringer, Councilmember Hickson STAFF PRESENT: Interim City Manager Brymer, Assistant City Attorney Nemcik, City Secretary Hooks, City Planner Kee, Asst. Director of Public Utilities Riley, Executive Director of Management Services Piwonka A.qenda Item No. 1 -- Consideration of a petition for annexation submitted by Mr. Tim Crowley regarding a tract of land containinc~ approximately 522 acres located north and adjacent to Greens Prairie Road and bound by the city limits on the east. City Planner Jane Kee indicated that this particular property owner submitted a petition for annexation and will be included in the annexation proceedings with the other properties brought forth before Council. Councilman Mariott made a motion to accept the petition submitted by Tim Crowley for 522 acres to be made a part of the city limits. The motion was seconded by Councilman Fox which carried unanimously, 4-0, with Mayor Ringer, Councilmembers Crouch and Hickson absent. A.qenda Item No. 2 -- Public hearinq for consideration of annexation of certain properties located within the City of Colleqe Station. City Planner Jane Kee presented a detailed explanation of this item. She described the areas proposed for annexation. She outlined the annexation events to date and further stated that this is the first of three public hearings scheduled on this particular annexation process. Ms. Kee explained the reasons for the annexation proposal as follows: (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) Settlement agreement with City of Bryan expiration Potential Growth Land Use Control Clearly identify boundaries, fill in gaps from previous annexations ETJ customers may receive service if they petition the Council, if they concur with annexation of their property in the future Mayor Protem Mcllhaney opened the public hearing. Councilman Crouch arrived to the meeting at 4:00 p.m. The persons identified below spoke in opposition to the annexation proposals. She announced the next date for the public hearing scheduled for Thursday, May 25th in the City Hall Council Chambers.
