RESOLUTION NO. 9-12-96-01
WHEREAS, it came to be considered the returns of a city council runoff election
held on the 7th day of September 1996, for the purpose of electing one
councilmember to the College Station City Council;
WHEREAS, it appears from said returns, duly and legally made that a total of
769 valid ballots were cast at said election.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS;
That each of the candidates for City Council Place 3 received the following
number of votes in said election;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS;
That said election was duly called, that notice of said election was given
in accordance with the law, that said election was held in accordance with the
law; and that Mayor Lynn Mcllhaney, is hereby authorized to sign the statement
of Canvass of Runoff Election, which shall be attached to and become a part of
this Resolution; and a copy of which shall be retained by the custodian of the
election records; and, that Brad Martin was duly elected to City Council Place 3.
Said above named party is hereby declared duly elected to said respective
offices, subject to the taking of the oath of office as provided by the laws of the
State of Texas and the Charter of the City of College Station.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 12th day of September, 1996.

CANVASS OF RUNOFF ELECTION
I, Lynn Mcllhaney, Mayor of the City of College Station, met with the College
Station City Council sitting as the canvassing board to canvass the runoff
election of September 7, 1996, on September 12, 1996 in College Station,
Texas.
I certify that the figures on Resolution No. 9-12-96-01 correspond with the
figures on the returns.
