HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-29-96-6-j - Resolution - 08/29/1996q so[ution NO. 8-29-96-6-,i A RESOLUTION PRESCRIBING AN ASSESSMENT FOR GARBAGE DISPOSAL IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of College Station that: Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 11, Section 5, of the City of College Station Code of Ordinances, the following monthly charges shall be assessed and collected from each person, firm or corporation within the city limits of the City of College Station for garbage collection and disposal. L GENERAL RATE PROVISION Except as otherwise provided in this resolution, the charges for garbage collection and disposal shall be assessed according to the following schedule: $11.20 Each single-family residential dwelling unit utilizing a small automated refuse container and provided with garbage, rubbish, brush and recycling collection once weekly. $11.20 Each single or multi-family residential dwelling unit utilizing a commercial-type automated refuse container and provided with twice per week garbage collection and once per week rubbish/brush collection. 8.00 Additional monthly fee for residential dwelling units having more than one automated refuse container. This rate shall be assessed for each additional container utilized. 6.00 Each multi-family residential dwelling unit utilizing commercial- type refuse containers for garbage collection only. Service will be provided twice weekly. $12.00 Minimum charge for small businesses that jpintly use a commercial-type refuse container without causing a health, sanitation or litter problem. $ 48.40 Places of business that can best be serviced with a residential- type automated container with two times per week collection, without causing a health, sanitation or litter problem. $130.00 Places of business that can best be serviced by a large, commercial-type automated container with two times per week collection, without causing a health, sanitation or litter problem. Resolution No. 8 - 2 9- 9 6.6 - ,~ Page 2 IL RATES FOR USERS OF FRONT-END LOADING CONTAINERS The charges for garbage collection and disposal for places of business that can best be served by Front-End Loading Non-Compacting and Compacting containers shall be a monthly fee based on container size, number of containers utilized, and frequency of collection per week. Container Size Frequency of Collection Monthly Rate 4 cubic yard Non-Compactor 2 $140.00 3 195.00 4 210.00 5 245.00 6 280.00 8 cubic yard Non-Compactor 2 $180.00 3 230.00 4 280.00 5 330.00 6 380.00 4 cubic yard Compactor 1 $118.00 2 236.00 3 354.00 6 cubic yard Compactor $159.00 318.00 477.00 me ADDITIONAL CHARGES The following additional charges will be assessed and collected upon the performance of the described service or the occurrence of the described use or condition: $ 2.50 Daily rental fee for the use of any city-owned, 20 cubic yard roll- off container. $ 2.65 Daily rental fee for the use of any city-owned, 30 cubic yard roll- off container. $ 2.85 Daily rental fee for the use of any city-owned, 40 cubic yard roll- off container. Resolution No. 8-29-96-6-j Page 3 $15.00 Additional fee for any location (other than residential) where the container was blocked and the collection vehicle must return to provide service. $ 25.00 Additional fee for delivery and set-up on any city-owned, roll-off container. $ 30.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on 4 cubic yard FEL compactor. $ 40.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on 6 cubic yard FEL compactor. $ 50.00 Unprepared solid waste minimum charge. Actual cost of clean up can be charged pursuant to City of College Station Ordinance No. 1845, approved March 22, 1990. $ 75.00 All roll-off container service per load plus current per ton landfill charge. IV. GENERAL PROVISIONS The solid waste superintendent, or his representative, shall be notified of any new service locations or changes in service levels and will designate the container(s) to be utilized. The superintendent can require changes in service levels at any location when the current service is inadequate and is causing a health, sanitation, or litter problem. Payments must be received at the City utility office on or before the due date to avoid late charges. Payment received at~er the due date will be assessed a penalty equaling ten percent (10%) of the current month's charges with a minimum charge of Three Dollars ($3.00). The charges provided for in this resolution shall supersede all charges for garbage collection and disposal set in any previous resolutions passed by the City of College Station. These rates shall be effective on all invoices submitted by the City of College Station to users on or after October 1, 1996~ PASSED AND APPROVED this 29th dayof AUGUST ,1996.
