Noe City Council Steve Esmond Ron Silvia Swiki Anderson Larry Mariott Anne Hazen MINUTES COLLEGE STATION CITY COUNCIL BUDGET WORKSHOP MEETING September 3, 1998 at 11:30 a.m. College Station City Hall COUNCILMEMBERS PRESENT:Mayor McIlhaney, Mayor Pro Tem Hickson, Councilmembers Silvia, Hazen, Esmond, Mariott, Anderson STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Noe, Assistant City Manager Brymer, Interim Finance Director Cryan, City Secretary Hooks, City Attorney Cargill, Jr., Public Works Director Smith Mayor McIlhaney opened the meeting at 11:45 a.m. Agenda Item No. 1 -- Presentation of proposed budget for Public Works. Director of Public Works Mark Smith presented a proposed budget of' $8,071,407 and described projects within the different operations. Questions were asked by councilmembers relating to street maintenance and street inventory program. No action was required. Agenda Item No. 2 -- Discussion and possible action on an ordinance calling the bond election and approval of an interlocal agreement with Brazos County in conjunction with the general election to be held on November 3~ 1998. Mayor Pro Tem Hickson made a motion to change the proposed language in proposition no. 6 to state: "The issuance of $3,640,000 drainage and greenbelt improvement bonds" and adopt Ordinance No. 2343 ordering a bond election for November 3. Seconded by Councilman Mariott which carried unanimously, 7-0.
