HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-8-98-6h - Resolution - 10/08/1998q so[ution RESOLUTION NO. 10-8-98-6h A RESOLUTION PRESCRIBING AN ASSESSMENT FOR GARBAGE DISPOSAl, IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DA I'E BE fi RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of College Station that: Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter I I, Section 5, of the City of College Station Code of Ordinances, there shall be monthly charges assessed and collected from each person, firm or corporation within the city limits the following monthly assessment charges for garbage collection and disposal: GENERAL RATE PROVISION Except as otherwise provided in this resolution, the charges for garbage collection and disposal shall be assessed according to the following schedule: $1020 Each Residential 1 dwelling unit utilizing a small aotomatcd refuse container and provided with garbage, rubbish, brush and recycling collection once weekly. $7.50 Additional monthly fee for Residential [ dwelling units Imving more than one automated refuse container Fhis rate shall be assessed for each additional container utilized $1020 Each Residential 11 dwelling unit utilizing an automated refuse container and provided with twice per week garbage collection, once per week curbside recycling collection and once per week rubbish/brush collection. $5.50 Each Residential I11 dwelling unit utilizing an automated refuse container for garbage collection only. Service will be provided twice weekly. $11.00 Minimum monthly charge for small businesses that jointly use a commercial-type refuse container without causing a health, sanitation or litter problem. [h COMMERCIAL AUTOMATED COLLECTION RATES l'he monthly per container garbage collection and disposal charge for commercial locations shall be based on container size, number of containers utilized and frequency of collection per week. ADDITIONAL CHARGES The following additional charges will be assessed and collected upon the performance of the described service or the occurrence of the described use or condition: $2.50 Daily rental fee for the use of any city-owned, 20 cubic yard roll-off container~ $2.65 Daily rental fee for the use o£any city-owned, 30 cubic yard roll-off container. $2.85 Daily rental fee for the use of any city-owned, 40 cubic yard roll-off container. $10.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer addition to the scheduled service on a 90 gallon container $15.00 Additional fee for any location (other than residential) where the container was blocked and the collection vehicle must return to provide service~ $20.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on a 2 cubic yard or 400 gallon container. $25.00 Additional fee for delivery and set-up on any city-owned, roll- off container. $30.00 Additional tee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on a 4 cubic yard container. $35.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on a 4 cubic yard compactor. $40.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on a 8 cubic yard container. $45.00 Additional fee for collection service requested by customer in addition to the scheduled service on a 6 cubic yard compactor. $50.00 Unprepared solid waste minimum charge. Actual cost of clean up can be charged pursuant to City of College Station Ordinance No. 1845, Approved March 22, 1990. $75.00 All roll-offcontainer service per load plus current per ton landfill charge. 1'he solid waste superintendent, or his representatiCes, shall be notified of any new service locations or changes in service levels and will designate the container(s) to be utilized. The superintendent can require changes in service levels at any location when the current service is inadequate and is causing a health, sanitation, or litter problem. Payments must be received at the city utility office on or before the due date to avoid late charges. Payment received after the due date will be assessed a penalty equaling ten percent (10%) of the current montWs charges with a minimum charge of three dollars ($3.00). These rates shall be effective on all invoices submitted by the City of College Station to users on or after November I, 1998.
