HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-1605 - Ordinance - 08/08/1985Ordinance No. 1605 AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 2.33 ACRE TRACT OF LAND LYING AND BEING SITUATED IN THE CRAWFORD BURNETT LEAGUE, ABSTRACT NO. 7, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE, FROM MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT R-5 TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT C-1. BE IT ORDAINED BY TRE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on August 8, 1985, on the question of rezonzng certain areas within the City Limits; AND, WHEREAS, the City Councxl has determined the followxng: To rezone or change the classification of a 2.33 acre tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League, Abstract No. 7, Brazos County, Texas and being comprised of the followxng: (1) Being a portxon of that tract conveyed to Eddie Chew, Jr. wife Betty Jean Chew by Eddie Chew Sr., by quit claim deed recorded in Volume 380, page 198 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas; and (2) Being all that tract conveyed to Eddie Chew and wife, Settie May Chew by R. L. Burley and wife, Ida B. Burley by deed recorded in Volume 149, page 515 of the Deed Records of Brezos County, Texas; (3) Being all that tract conveyed to Eddie Chew and wife, Sadie Mae Chew by Kate Kelly Johnson, a feme sole, by deed recorded in Volume 94, page 564 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas; Said 2.33 acre tract bexng more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at the west corner of item No. 2 as listed heretofore, said corner being marked by an iron rod found lying on the northeast right-off-way line of Farm-to-Market Road 2154, also commonly known as Wellborn Road; THENCE S27°48'26',E along the northeast right-of-way line of Wellborn Road for a distance of 338.51 feet to an iron rod set for the south corner of said 2.33 acre tract also being the intersection of the northeast right-off-way of Wellborn Road and the expanded northwest right-of-way of Rolleman Drive in accordance with deed from Eddxe Chew, Jr. to the Cxty of College Station, Texas recorded in Volume 453, page 636 of the Deed Records of Brazos County, Texas; THENCE N62°27'40"E along the northwest right-of-way of Holleman Dr~ve for a distance of 46.57 feet to an iron rod set as a point for curve left; 00 51 Ordinance No. 1605 page 2 THENCE continuing northeasterly along said curve and the northwest right-of-way line of Holleman Drive for an arc d/stance of 287.19 feet (Curve Data: Central Angle = 17°47'22'', Radius = 924.94 feet, Tangent = 144.76 feet; the Chord Bears N53°35'59"E for a distance of 286.03 feet) to an iron rod set for corner; THENCE continuing N44'40'lB"E along the northwest right-off-way line of Rolleman Drive for n distance of 19.26 feet to an iron set for corner; rod THENCE N45'54'35*'W for s distance of 140.72 feet to an iron rod found aa a corner; THENCE S44°45'40"W for a distance of 14.72 feet to an iron rod found as a corner; THENCE N28°36'le"w for a distance of 166.94 feet to an iron rod found for a corner; THENCE S61°03'41"W for a distance of 287.87 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING end containing 2.33 acres of land, more or less, from Medium DensZty Residential District R-5 to General Commercial District C-1. And, it is ordained that said changes shall become effective immediately. PASSED AND APPROVED this 8th day of August, 1985.
