Special Meeting
Thursday, May 7, 1999 at 2:00 p.m.

COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor McIlhaney, Hickson, Hazen, Silvia,
Mariott, Esmond, Anderson
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Noe, City Secretary Hooks, Senior Asst. City
Attorney Nemcik, Economic Development Director Foutz, Assistant City Manager
Brymer, Management Assistant Broussard, Human Resources Director Pavlinski, Public
Relations and Marketing Manager Chapman
Mayor McIlhaney opened the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m.
Agenda Item No. 1 -- Canvass of election returns from May 1~ 1999 election
Presiding Judge of Central Counting Station Kay Parker presented the official canvass of
results. Councilman Esmond made a motion to approve the resolution accepting the
results as follows. Seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Hickson which carded unanimously,
7-0.

Proposition No. 1 Initiative,.Ordinance passed: 3,099
Agenda Item No. 2 -- Presentation of service plaques to David Hickson~ Steve
Esmond~ and Swiki Anderson.
Mayor McIlhaney presented a two year service plaque for each member leaving office.
Auenda Item No. 3 -- Oath of office to newly elected officers.
Municipal Court Judge Tripp Walter served as a notary public to witness the oath
statement given to James Massey, Winnie Garner and Dennis Maloney. Mayor
Mcllhaney presented each member their certificate of election.

Hearing no objection, the meeting adjourned at 2:10 p.m.
Members of the council and audience were invited to attend a reception honoring the
outgoing officials and newly elected officials.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 10th day of June, 1999.
